- Accumulator (Acca)
- a single bet that links multiple selections; all must win for the bet to pay out.
- Asian Handicap
- a way to bet that gives one team a virtual advantage or disadvantage to make uneven teams more balanced for betting.
- Bankroll
- the total amount of money you have set aside for betting.
- Betting Exchange
- a platform where bettors can back and lay against each other, rather than betting against a bookmaker.
- Bookmaker Margin (Overround)
- the built-in advantage a bookmaker includes in the odds, ensuring they make a profit regardless of the result.
- Both Teams To Score (BTTS)
- a bet on whether both teams will score at least one goal during the match.
- Cash Out
- a feature that lets you settle a bet before the event ends, locking in a profit or limiting a loss.
- Corner Kick Betting
- a market where you bet on the number of corner kicks in a match or which team will take more.
- Double Chance
- a bet that covers two of the three possible outcomes (home win/draw, away win/draw, or either team winning) in one wager.
- Draw No Bet
- a bet where you pick a team to win; if the match ends in a draw, your stake is refunded.
- Expected Value (EV)
- a measure that shows the average amount you can expect to win or lose per bet if you repeat it many times.
- Handicapping
- the process of analyzing teams and statistics to estimate their chances and find favorable odds.
- Hedging
- placing additional bets on opposite outcomes to reduce potential loss or guarantee a profit.
- Kelly Criterion
- a mathematical formula that calculates the optimal size of a bet based on your perceived edge.
- Lay Bet
- a bet that a particular outcome will NOT happen, often used on betting exchanges.
- Live Betting (In-Play)
- betting on a match while it is happening, with odds that change as the game progresses.
- Moneyline
- a simple bet on which team will win the match, without any point spread.
- Odds (American)
- a number expressed as either a positive or negative figure, indicating how much you win on a $100 bet or how much you need to stake to win $100.
- Odds (Decimal)
- a number that shows how much you will receive for each unit staked, including the original stake.
- Odds (Fractional)
- a fraction that shows the profit relative to your stake (e.g., 5/1 means you win 5 units for each 1 unit wagered).
- Over/Under
- a bet on whether the total number of something (like goals, corners, cards) will be higher or lower than a set number.
- Parlay
- similar to an accumulator, combining several bets into one, with higher odds but all must win.
- Unit
- a standard measurement of bet size, often a small percentage of your bankroll, used to manage risk.
- Value Bet
- a bet where the odds offered are higher than the true probability of the outcome, giving an expected advantage.
- Vigorish (Juice)
